© Stationery consultants and designers - Our paper supplier has been importing papers from three primary suppliers for the past twelve years. One range of their selected paper is handmade from 100% recycled cotton waste; so no trees are cut down in order to produce this paper. Their Japanese paper is made mostly with fibers from plants grown specifically for this use. The plant most commonly used is the kozo plant, which is harvested in autumn, and grows back within the next spring. Japanese paper makers are very particular about returning water used in papermaking to the rivers in almost the same condition as they found it. Our paper supplier’s paper from Nepal is also made from a renewable source; the lokta plant and this plant also grow back in the spring. Many of those papers are coloured with vegetable dyes, which are also much more environmentally friendly. In addition, our supplier fully complies under the United Nations Global Compact as well as winning the top achiever award from the Nepali Chamber of Commerce and Industry for staff welfare.
